Gift giving is part of our culture. Whether it is to mark a special occasion, like Valentine’s Day, or simply to show someone we are thinking of them, gifts help us make a connection with others. For those most important in our lives, a wonderful option – one that goes beyond material possessions – is honoring them through charitable giving.
Gifts that honor another individual usually come in two forms – memorial gifts and tributes.
Memorial: Preserving the Memory of Someone You Love While Giving Back to Others. Many of us have lost someone special – someone we think of often. Every time we see a photo or hear a story about them, our hearts are warmed with love. It’s also important to note that while the person you honor is recognized by the charity you choose, you will be eligible for the tax deduction because you’re funding the gift. Just be sure to choose a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and, for tax purposes, save your receipts with the proper tax identification number notated.

Building for God Community Foundation (BFGCF) makes a difference in the lives of others by partnering with private, growth-oriented nonprofit organizations in our local community who have made it their life’s mission to care for the less fortunate and recognize them as our Champions in Life. Not only do we provide our Champions with grant funds, but we also offer professional and personal support and skills, like strategic planning, mentorship, accounting, and so much more. All of this support is designed to help each nonprofit grow and thrive.
By supporting the great works of community nonprofits, we are able to fulfill our mission of sheltering the homeless, feeding and caring for families, fostering the educational needs of our youth, and supporting those who protect our community.
The Perseverando Society recognizes the generosity of our greatest supporters. Its members are not defined by how much they give, but by their dedication. This special group is comprised of individuals and families who have elected to recognize Building for God Community Foundation (BFGCF) in their legacy giving and/or have chosen to donate to our mission on any recurring basis, including recurring employee giving program gifts.
